Prospero Teaching is looking for a Behaviour Mentor with in-depth knowledge of ASD, and experience supporting individuals with SEN. The position is to support a child in Year 4. The child requires full-time 1:1 support, has autism and communication needs. The school is looking for someone who can be resilient and independent in managing the child, and pro-active in finding different ways to build a good working relationship with the child. The child’s time is split between his class curriculum and a bespoke programme of activities he particularly enjoys engaging with. He needs support to apply himself to academic activities, and requires prompts and interventions to help him with communication and following instructions.
The school has high expectations for the children, and is keen to ensure that individuals’ needs are met. The staff have a collaborative approach and work hard to support each other and maintain a positive environment for all to enjoy in school. The school is looking for someone who is experienced in managing children with additional needs, and building good relationships to enable improved access to the curriculum and progress to be made.
