Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit an excellent Teaching Assistant to work within a fantastic secondary school in the Bootle area!

Teaching Assistant

  • Location – Bootle, L20
  • Type of work – Long Term
  • Start date – June 2025
  • Contract type – Long-term Temporary
  • Full time/part time – Full time
  • Pay: Paid to scale
  • Hours – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with lessons: Helping to prepare materials, setting up equipment, and supporting students during activities.
  • Behaviour management: Helping to maintain a positive learning environment by addressing behavioural issues and encouraging good behaviour.
  • Marking and assessment: Assisting with the marking of students’ work and recording grades.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining records of students’ progress and any other relevant documentation.
  • Providing emotional support: Offering guidance and support to students who may be dealing with personal issues or stress.
  • Monitoring well-being: Keeping an eye on students’ overall well-being and reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (Desirable)
  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as some training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional references.
