Sports Coach/Mentor

Prospero Teaching are looking for a Sports Coach to join a school in Basingstoke, where you will be working with an experienced and supportive team, assisting with PE/Outdoor Education lessons and supporting students on a One to One basis in the classroom on a full time basis – this is a great opportunities for a Graduate or someone looking to start a career within the Education sector.

​​The School is a maintained community special school for pupils aged between 10 and 16 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school serves a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including; Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC); Attention Deficit, (Hyperactivity) Disorder AD(H)D; Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN); Opposition Defiance Disorder (ODD) and Attachment/Conduct disorders.

You will preferably have a background working with young people and will be on hand to help students achieve learning and behaviour targets.

  • Location – Basingstoke, Hampshire
  • Position – Sports Coach/Mentor
  • Type of work – Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Support
  • Contract or position start date – ASAP
  • Contract or position end date (if applicable) – Ongoing
  • Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temp to Perm
  • Full time/part time – Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay – £10.86 per hour
  • Hours – 8:30 am – 15.30pm

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Degree (not essential but preferable)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with young people
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (we can offer this if not)

Eligibility

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
