SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism/Challenging Behaviour

SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Tadworth (Surrey) – Autism & Challenging Behaviour – Immediate Start

I am currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in the Tadworth area (Surrey) who specialise in children with Autism and associated needs. The school is rated as Ofsted ‘Outstanding’. Due to the location, this role will ideally suit someone with their own transport.

Daily Rate: Minimum £80

Location: Tadworth (Surrey)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Monday – Friday (Full-Time)

Needs of students: Profound Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and associated challenging behaviours.

Age range: 5-19 years

The successful applicants will have:

• Knowledge or Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs
• Demonstrable experience of the ability to understand and support children with developmental difficulty or disability
• Knowledge/Awareness of Autism
• Knowledge/Awareness of Challenging Behaviour
• Have passion and belief in helping our pupils to achieve their full potential
• Valid and enhanced child or child and adult DBS check

The role will consist of:

• Offering support to the class teacher
• Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
• Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
• Building good student – teacher rapport
