Job Description: School Cleaner

Overview: Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and reliable School Cleaner to join our client Primary School based in Southampton. The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring a clean and safe environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Maintenance: Carry out general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitising classrooms, restrooms, and communal areas to maintain a hygienic school environment.
• Waste Management: Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly, adhering to recycling practices.
• Health and Safety: Follow health and safety guidelines, using cleaning materials and equipment safely and effectively.
• Inventory Management: Support the management of cleaning supplies and report shortages or equipment needs to the Facilities Manager.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth and efficient school operations.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• Qualifications: No formal qualifications are necessary, but prior cleaning experience, particularly in schools, is preferred.
• Training: Knowledge of health and safety regulations is an advantage; some training will be provided.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Have the Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the child barred list, registered with the online update service, or be willing to undergo a new DBS check.
• Provide two professional references.
