Psychology Graduate – Halifax

Are you a Psychology Graduate looking for an opportunity to develop your skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant? We have an excellent opportunity available in Halifax for someone with the right qualifications and experience.

This full time, long term position is available for an immediate start and will require you to provide support to students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will be responsible for working with SEN students in class and one-to-one, helping them to understand course material, completing assessments and providing guidance and support.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Psychology, be patient and understanding and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience of working with SEN students is highly desirable, but not essential.

CONTRACT /POSITION DETAILS:

• Location – Halifax
• Position – SEN Teaching Assistant
• Start date – ASAP
• Duration / Likely Duration – Long term, Ongoing
• Full time/part-time – Full Time
• The minimum rate of pay – Minimum rate of £65 per day
• Hours – 08:30 – 15:30

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience of working with students with SEMH, Autism or ADHD – Preferred
• Experience working within a school or similar setting
• Degree in Psychology or similar
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references
