PHYSICS TEACHER

September 2024 – Edgeware

Prospero Teaching are looking for a Physics teacher to join an Ofsted Outstanding, mixed and diverse secondary school in the heart of Edgeware. The school is easily accessible from South London, being 5 minutes away from the M1 and a 10 minute walk away from Colindale station which has direct routes to Morden.

This Physics teaching position starts in September 2025 and is a full-time teaching position. The school is well equipped with multiple modern science labs. You need to be able to teach all key stages including GCSE and A Level.

THE HEAD OF PHYSICS POSITION:

  • Full-time Physics
  • Ideally starting September 2024
  • Teach all key stages including GCSE and A Level
  • This is a mainstream, Ofsted Outstanding secondary school
  • The Biology and Science department is well resourced
  • Full time (5 days a week) position including
  • Parking is available on site and the school is well served by public transport

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL PHYSICS WILL BE:

  • Qualified Physics or Science technology teacher – UK or Overseas Physics or Science Teacher
  • Ideally hold a teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS preferred) or equivalent.
  • Someone who can manage students of different abilities and differentiate lessons in line with the needs of the students
  • You will be proactive and innovative with the ability to engage students in different ways.
  • Be a team player

CONTRACT DETAILS FOR THE PHYSICS TEACHER POSITION:

  • Location – Edgeware
  • Start date – September 2024
  • Contract type – temporary with a view to becoming permanent after 12 weeks
  • Duration / Likely Duration – September 2024 – 2025
  • Full time/part time – Full time 5 days
  • Minimum rate of pay – Outer Pay Scale

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PHYSICS TEACHER MUST HAVE / BE:

  • Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
  • A positive attitude and desire to maintain current standards and raise attainment across the school.
  • Lots of energy and enthusiasm
  • The ability to engage and motivate students and staff
  • Excellent communication skills – the school encourages good communication with parents / carers
