Learning Support Assistant / Ashford / ASAP Start

I’m seeking Learning Support Assistant to join an outstanding school based in Ashford, Kent. This is a thriving secondary school, with excellent facilities and great supportive system.

You would be required to support students with SEN needs, this will be including working with students who have the following mild Special Needs this would include Learning difficulties, Behaviour difficulties, ADHD, etc. Please note, this does not include personal care.

Prospero Teaching will accept, LSA, SEN TA’s, Carers, oversea trained teachers anyone with a positive attitude towards work and benefiting the students.

This is a permanent position starting in September 2022 which is full-time, Monday – Friday. This is located in East London in Hornchurch.

This Teaching Assistant vacancy will see the successful candidate working across the school to help attainment and progress. The Teaching Assistant will be working closely with GCSE and A-Level students to provide booster sessions which will concentrate on exam practice to prepare them for the summer.

What does the teaching assistant role involve?

  • Supporting the class teacher and students during lessons.
  • 1:1 session supporting students with SEN needs.
  • Supporting Secondary Students aged 11 – 17
  • Running intervention groups.
  • Working with other departments.
  • You will be working specifically with students who require more help than other students.

What support will I be given as a teaching assistant?

You’ll be given training, guidance and support by an experienced consultant at Prospero, our Training and Development Team as well as from the school. Training and CPD sessions are also offered. The school, ahead of time, will provide you with extended information, resources and strategies for supporting learners, behaviour management guidance, group and 1:1 training from qualified and experienced passionate staff.

Teaching assistant hours and pay:

  • Full-time school hours, 8.30 am – 3.45 pm, Monday to Friday.
