Functional Skills Tutor

Job Title: Functional Skills Maths Tutor
Location: Islington, London
Contract Type: Temporary, Flexible, Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £25-30 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and structured tuition in Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEN needs, ensuring lessons are accessible and effective.
• Develop individualised learning plans to address specific learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to help students reach their full potential.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of teaching Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Experience working with SEN students.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• PGCE in Maths or English and/or QTS status.
• Strong communication skills and an adaptable approach to teaching.
