The Opportunity

We are currently providing support to a young person in looked after care in the Enfield area that is not currently able to access mainstream education. Support will take place at the students home in Enfield. The young person requires 10 hours of support each week which will take place in 2 hour timeslots from Monday through to Friday.

This role would be best suited to individuals from a Special Educational Needs background, for example Support Workers, Carers, SEN Teaching Assistants, SEN mentors.

Position Details:

  • Hours per week-10 hours
  • Timetable– 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday (during school hours)
  • Duration of booking– ongoing, until a school placement is secured
  • Location– Enfield
  • Start date– ASAP

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • Teaching, tutoring, or learning support experience as a minimum
  • Strong experience working with individuals with a variety of SEND
  • PECS/Makaton training preferred
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils

To be eligible for this role, the potential SEND Specialist Tutor must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
