Bilingual Teaching Assistant (Punjabi)

A “good” school in Brent is seeking to recruit a Bilingual Teaching Assistant to start immediately. The ideal candidate would have the ability read and write in both English and Punjabi.

Job involves:

• Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning
• Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
• Develop and implement EAL intervention strategies
• Contribute to school life by supporting EAL students at school events and out of school trips
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
• Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
• Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
• Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance
• Actively participate in identified programmes and develop strategies to help students to develop behaviours for learning and emotional resilience
• Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all required vetting checks
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
