Are you a responsible individual with experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Prospero Teaching are looking for a Behaviour and Learning Practitioner in Shipley.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide pastoral support to pupils.
  • Receive and supervise pupils excluded from, or otherwise not working to, a normal timetable.
  • Attend to pupils’ personal needs and provide advice to assist in their social, emotional health and hygiene development.
  • Participate in comprehensive assessment of pupils to determine those in need of particular help.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location – Shipley
  • Position – Behaviour and Learning Practitioner
  • Start date – ASAP
  • Duration / Likely Duration – Maternity Cover – Ongoing (9 months minimum)
  • End date (if applicable) – N/A
  • Full time/part-time – Full Time
  • Minimum Rate of Pay – £75 per day
  • Hours – Between 8.45am – 2.45pm (3.45pm Tuesday only – staff training)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working in a UK School/Provision.
  • To have experience and/or knowledge of working with secondary school age children.
  • GSCE English & Maths or equivalent.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as, we can provide this training to you).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an ability to understand pupils who have additional learning needs, special educational needs and SEMH needs.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child related references.
