This month Prospero Group took part in a football for charity event hosted by BusinessFives. We saw a coming together of all our divisions, including players from teaching, SEN, Audio Visual and Health and Social care to play to raise funds for the Trussell Trust.
BusinessFives are an organisation that hosts sporting charity days across the country, and they strive to have positive impacts nationwide.
Prospero’s CEO – Rob Grays – elected the Trussell Trust as Prospero’s chosen charity this year. The Trussell Trust is working tirelessly to end UK hunger & poverty with a variety of different methods. Primarily, they achieve this by supporting food banks nationwide. Ultimately, the trust’s aim is to create a society where food banks are no longer needed.
Given the impact of COVID & the record level of daily food bank users in the UK. Rob feels this charity deserves more recognition for its hard work.
Enduring temperatures of over 30c, the boys played some tough matches out there in Shepherd’s Bush. There were lots of goals, crunching tackles, flamboyant celebrations and reason to cheer all round.
Teams from several other local companies took part, which gave us some real competition. Taking the time out of the office to come together as a team and compete was a real privilege. Ultimately, being able to spread the word and see donations coming in from colleagues, friends and family members reminds us of what we were really playing for.
We are delighted to report that the team are already close to reaching their fundraising target.
