Are you looking to embark on a very rare opportunity of being a SpLD Teacher in one of Camden’s leading secondary schools?


Prospero Teaching are considering applications for a SpLD /SEN/ Dyslexia teacher; for one of their Outstanding mainstream Secondary schools based in the heart of Camden.


The school are in search of versatile teacher with knowledge and experience of working with students who have diagnoses of both Autism and additional Specific Learning Difficulties, ie Dyslexia.

THE SCHOOL:

  • Based in a leafy suburb of Camden, the school is one of the highest achieving secondary schools in the borough.
  • Due to a high number of pupils requiring SpLD support, the school now need a Dyslexia specialist teacher.
  • Based near Archway Station, the school is very easily commutable via local busses or over ground stations.
  • Very small class size of up to 6/7 pupils
  • enthusiastic and dedicated team of Therapy staff and Teachers who will work alongside you in the classroom.

THE ROLE:

  • The role involves teaching and assessing pupils with specific learning difficulties.
  • Working with both pastoral and academic staff to enhance and enrich the learning experience of the students
  • Write, implement and evaluate weekly/daily plans following termly plans
  • Teach small groups and individuals with Specific Learning difficulties
  • Support staff in planning and teaching the SpLD cohort
  • Carry out screening, diagnostic assessments and reports, as required. To advise staff in supporting the SpLD cohort
  • Attend staff meetings and INSET, as required.
  • Contribute towards providing an environment for the children that enables them to realize their potential and maximise their development

TO APPLY, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • A valid & up to date DBS
  • A Teaching Qualification/ Degree (QTS, B.Ed, PGCE or equivalent)
  • The ability to manage a small group of children with complex social communication needs.
  • Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children on the Autism Spectrum or dyslexia.
