About the School and the Job:

Prospero Teaching are looking for an LSA with experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties.

  • We are looking for an LSA to work across our client’s two sites in North Essex/Suffolk. You may be required to travel between the sites during the course of the day so should be a driver with your own vehicle.
  • You will be required to support KS3 and KS4 students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
  • The School is an independent school for students with a range of complex difficulties including SEMH.
  • In addition to the schools sites you may also be required to accompany the students to alternative provisions.
  • This is initially a supply role until at least June, possible the end of the academic year. However, there is a chance it could lead to something longer term for the right candidate.

Contract Details:

  • Location – North Essex/Suffolk
  • Position – SEMH LSA
  • Type of work – Supporting students with SEMH
  • Start date – ASAP
  • Contract type – Temporary until at least the end of June 2019
  • Full time/part time – Full time Monday to Friday
  • Minimum rate of pay – £65 per day

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • Previous LSA experience is required, ideally within the SEN Sector, although this is not essential providing you have the right attitude and desire.
  • Previous experience working with challenging behaviour would be advantageous
  • A passion for working with children with SEMH.
  • Pro Active in the classroom and a willingness to join in with class activities.
  • You should have lots of energy and enthusiasm with a positive attitude towards working with SEN students.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
