Prospero Teaching is seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated teacher of Economics who is a good, qualified teacher of Economics with a passion for transferring the passion and knowledge to students. This secondary school, based in Barnet provides a safe, community feel, teaching and learning environment where students learn through engaging lessons, teachers are supported by one another and the Senior Leaders. The Headteacher values every member of staff and students commented in the last Ofsted taken ‘because they care about everyone we are like a big family’.
The school-based in Barnet and educates students between the ages of 11-18 year-olds, and are a growing school. The school offer high-quality teaching and support and expect all their students to achieve very highly.
Economics taught at the school is a vibrant experience for students who enjoy a dynamic and enrich curriculum and is a popular choice for students at A level. Experience of teaching A level would be desirable but not essential.
The suitable teacher of Economics will have a clear vision of how to ensure all students can achieve and will make a significant contribution to the continuing success of the team.
The department is lead well, the Head of Economics is a passionate teacher and passionate educator and likes to interview all her staff before appointing. The Head of Economics works well with her team, a wide range of passionate Economics teachers, Economics NQTS and experienced teachers including Key stage Coordinators and AST Economics Teachers all supporting one another in the Economics department.
Teaching and Learning has a strong hold on the Headteachers and SLTs minds on a daily basis and this has maintained the schools Outstanding. Best practise in teaching is shared amongst staff who are reflective and readily engage in the constructive feedback offered SLT and middle leaders. Mutual respect is at the heart of the excellent relationships that pervade the school.
Economics resources at the school are fantastic; the department is busy and has a blend of NQT’s and experienced teachers of Economics which makes for an interesting and unique environment to work in.
The School will accommodate induction terms for a newly qualified teacher of Economics. The senior leadership team and NQT Coordinator at the school commit to making you an excellent practitioner if you are yet to finish your NQT year.
To be considered you will have:
The ability to motivate pupils to achieve excellent examination results,
A passion for Economics and the ability to share this with young people
Excellent classroom management skills
Excellent organisational and ICT skills
The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team
You are a fully qualified teacher of Economics (PGCE,QTS,B’ED etc).
You can provide 2 teaching references within the last 2 years.
You hold the right to work in the UK.
You have a DBS or are willing to complete one.
You have passion for Education.
You have a provable track record of teaching Economics at KS5
