On Saturday 3rd of December, Educational Psychologist Jo led a fantastic session on working with students on the Autistic Spectrum.

Jo, our Facilitator for this accredited CPD session, shared her expertise from years of teaching Special Needs in a variety of Primary schools supporting and bringing us up-to-date with the latest developments in what makes a positive learning environment for an ASD classroom.

As well as leading from the front Jo also broke the session into a series of small group discussions, which gave us the opportunity to share our own background, experiences and stories with each other.

This is what I particularly enjoyed about this ASD CPD

The range of activities during the course Inclusive Education – Supporting Young People with ASD, kept the session interesting and engaging. We heard from a range of people during group discussions, and it was really enjoyable and valuable hearing from professionals working in a range of settings.

Dr Grant (the facilitator for the session) was very knowledgeable and really easy to listen to. She clearly has a passion for supporting young people and this was evident in her presentation. She provided a range of activities during the day that gave practical advice to support the theory. I found these strategies were helpful not only for supporting young people on the ASD, but will be helpful for all of my students.

This is the second CPD course I have attended since registering with Prospero Teaching, and I highly recommend them. The sessions are professional, well organised and provide lots of valuable information. I am particularly looking forward to CPD courses with Dr Grant as the facilitator.
