Prior to attending the CPD “Creating Calm & Confident Learners” I didn’t know what to expect, but I am glad I attended as it turned out to be a fantastic CPD workshop.
The trainer, Educational Psychologist Dr Grant, was very knowledgeable and shared her expertise on the topic giving us both the tools and strategies so that by the end I felt empowered: I’d improved my understanding of how to help young people feel confident, safe and ready to learn.
It was very beneficial to receive updated legislation regarding Special Educational Needs and Disability as there are always changes being made by Government but this information rarely gets filtered down to us teachers. After all it’s us who need to know; we work with young people day in and day out.
She had great delivery and answered questions from the whole group throughout the session. She had a range of group activities which gave the course a good pace for taking in and assimilating the content. Furthermore, she recommended useful resources and websites, and gave practical tools for promoting calm and confident learners linked to behaviour for learning.
Thanks to Ellen and the team at Prospero for putting on such an invaluable CPD. I’m already eagerly look forward to the next one!
Did you attend this CPD event? What did you think of it? Are there other CPD workshops you’d like us to run? Please let us know – they’re for you after all! 🙂
