Assessment for Learning CPD
On Saturday 17th September, expert facilitator and ex-lead-teacher Chris Jones delivered an Assessment for Learning CPD Workshop at Prospero Towers
The course was designed to help attendees improve their understanding of AfL as a pedagogy so it can become implicit in their practice. Jam-packed full of top tips for Assessment for Learning trainees came away from the session confident in the knowledge that their skills to formatively assess and demonstrate progress effectively were improved and thriving.
The workshop-style session allowed teachers from all backgrounds to share ideas. As with all of Prospero Teaching’s training sessions – Primary and Secondary Teachers from many different schools had the chance to speak about their own experiences and help each other to improve their practice. We covered everything from writing purposeful learning objectives using Bloom’s Taxonomy, to incorporating checks for progress on-the-go, to using summative assessment appropriately and effectively. Lots of the strategies were used by Chris throughout the session, so that everyone could see how they work in practice.
It was a really fun and interactive morning, hopefully you can join us for the next one!
